An active power filter (APF) is a self-commutated bridge circuit that is directly connected in parallel to the power grid through a reactor, and the phase and amplitude of the output voltage on the AC side of the bridge circuit are appropriately adjusted or its AC side current is directly controlled, so that the circuit actively generates harmonic currents that meet the requirements and achieves the purpose of dynamic harmonic compensation.
