01 Project Description

After installing a photovoltaic power generation system, Anhui Guanshan Instrument Co., Ltd. faced new challenges in reactive power management. Its existing compensation equipment could not adapt to the fluctuating characteristics of photovoltaic power generation, resulting in a non-compliant power factor at the grid connection point and incurring fines. Therefore, the company urgently needed a reactive power compensation solution capable of precise management and dynamic response to ensure the efficient and compliant use of green energy.

02 Solution

YDK-SVG Static Var Generator

It is a new type of power electronic device used for dynamic reactive power compensation and three-phase imbalance control. It can analyze the reactive power content of the load current by sampling the load current, then control and actively output the corresponding reverse reactive current, and respond quickly to compensate for the reactive power component in the load current, thereby achieving dynamic tracking compensation.

The solution employs a high-performance static var generator (SVG) and utilizes "high-source, low-compensation" technology to perform millisecond-level real-time monitoring and precise compensation of power quality at the grid connection point. This SVG system can quickly mitigate reactive power impacts caused by fluctuations in photovoltaic output, ensuring that the power factor remains consistently within the excellent range required by the assessment, fundamentally solving the problem of reactive power penalties.

03 Implementation effect

After the project was put into operation, the problem of reactive power penalties was completely resolved, and the power supply company's performance indicators improved significantly. The SVG system not only ensured the full and efficient absorption of photovoltaic power generation, but also improved the power quality and operating efficiency of the internal power grid of the plant, achieving a dual improvement in green benefits and economic returns, and laying a solid foundation for the company's future energy interconnection.
