Project Background:

Guangde Hengfeng New Building Materials Co., Ltd. was established in 2008 and is located in Guangde City, Anhui Province. Its business scope includes the production and sales of fluorocarbon coating production process systems, fluorocarbon coated panels, and water-based coatings.

Because the machines required for new building materials have higher electricity demands when running, after adopting photovoltaic power generation technology, Guangde Hengfeng reported that the power factor was significantly reduced after being connected to the grid. Our technical staff queried the acquisition system and compared the power factors before and after the grid connection, and found that the reflected situation did exist.

·Pre-Renovation Issues

After installing photovoltaic power generation, Guangde Hengfeng's power metering power factor did not meet standards, resulting in a power regulation penalty.

Power factor measures the efficiency of a user's electrical equipment. A low power factor can reduce grid efficiency. Power factor is calculated by measuring the user's active and reactive power.

A higher proportion of reactive power indicates a lower power factor. Therefore, installing a reactive power compensation device to reduce reactive power is a key method for improving power factor.
